The Textile Association (India) Mumbai Unit (TAI) organized The “8th International & 60th All India Diamond Jubilee Textile Conference” on 5th & 6th Dec’2004 at Hotel Intercontinental, the Grand Mumbai. The theme of the Conference was “Textile Vision 2010”.

Shri D. R. Mehta, President of TAI, Mumbai unit welcomed the gathering and briefed about the theme of the Conference.There were 19 papers from eminent Speakers from India & abroad.

This was followed by a two day Conference, which was attended by over 750 participants and it was a grand success.

17th July 2004

The Textile Association (India), Mumbai Unit organised Seminar on “Texturising Exellence” at Hotel Daruya Darshan Devka Beach, Daman on July 17th 2004.More then 300 participants all over the country participated in the seminar. The seminar was well attended by technocrats, researchers, scientists & industrialists. The seminar was Intended to update the knowledge about the development of Texturising.

10th January 2004

The Textile Association (India), Mumbai Unit organised One Day Seminar on “Chemical Processing – challenges for Indian Textile Industry” at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Mumbai on January 10th 2004.More then 200 delegates were present. The seminar was attended by technocrats, professors, entrepreneurs, machinery manufacutrers, dyes / chemical manufacturers, researchers, university professors & students. In all there were 6 papers. Also there was panel discussion.

30th April 2004

The Textile Association (India), Mumbai Unit organised One Day Seminar on “Survival of Weaving Industry in Present Scenario” on 30th April 2004 at Umbergaon Club, Madhuwan Complex, Umbergaon Sanjan Road, Umbergaon. Mr. C. Bose, Vice President, TAI, Mumbai Unit welcomed the Chief Guest Mr. Vijay Todi, Managing Director, Creative Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd., dignitaries, Speakers, Guests & Invitees.

About 100 participants attended this seminar. There were 5 papers presented by eminent bureaucrats and expert professionals from the industry.

23rd January 2004

The Textile Association (India), Mumbai Unit and Synthetic & Art Silk Mills Association Limited jointly organized one-day seminar on “How to get best from Shuttleless Weaving” on 23rd January 2004 at Sasmira Auditorium, Worli, Mumbai. Mr. V. S. Chalke, Chairman, Synthetic & Art Silk Mills Association Limited welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr. Subodh Kumar, IAS, Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Guest of Honour, Mr. Thomas Varghese, Executive President (Mktg.), Grasim Industries Limited and dignitaries, Speakers, Guests & Invitees

About 200 delegates participated in this seminar from industry and institutions. There were 9 papers presented by eminent industrialists, top bureaucrats and exert professionals from the industry.

26th & 27th July 2003

The Textilee Association (India) – Mumbai Unit organised international seminar on “Global Growth Potential for Texturising” held on 26th & 27th July 2003 at Treat Resort, Umerkui, Sayli Road, Silvassa (U.T of D & NH).

Shri C. Bose, Convenor, welcomed Chief Guest, Hon’ble Shri Basanagouda R. Patil, Minister of State for Textiles, Govt. of India, Hon’ble Vijay Kumar, Collector, U.T of D & NH and also he briefed participants about the seminar.

More than 300 participants from India as well as abroad were present

14th & 15th December 2002 The Mumbai Unit hosted 7th International & 58th All India Textile Conference at Nehru Centre, Mumbai. The theme of the Conference was “Textile Industry Beyond 2004”. Shri Kashiram Rana, Minister of Textiles, Govt. of India, was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the Conference. Shri Sudhir Thackersey, President, International Textile Manufacturers Federation, Zurich delivered the Golden Jubilee Commemorative Address. Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman & Managing Director, Reliance Industries Ltd. was conferred the Honorary Membership of The Textile Association. Mr. Nikhil Meswani, Executive Director, Reliance Industries Ltd. and Mr. Subodh Sapra, President, Polyester Sector, Reliance Industries Ltd. were the Guests of Honour.
8th & 9th June 2002 International Seminar on “Texturising Scenario in 21st Century” held at Silvassa, which was attended by 300 participants. The seminar was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Kashiram Rana, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of Textiles, Government of India. The Seminar was a grand success.
2nd March 2002 A get-to-gather programme of members of The Textile Association (India) (in aid of auditorium fund) “SA RE GA MA” held at Birla Matushri Sabhagar, 9, Marine Lines, Mumbai – 400 020, which was attended by 1032 participants.
